The British Academy, the UK's national body for the humanities and social sciences, is seeking a Media & PR Officer to join the Communications and Marketing department. The role aims to increase exposure and generate media coverage for the Academy's public events, policy programmes, funded research, and subject advocacy.
The Media & PR Officer will collaborate with colleagues across the Academy to create engaging news stories and pitch them to national, regional, broadcast, and higher education media. Responsibilities include planning, writing, and editing stories about public events, higher education, public policy, fellowships, and research findings. The officer will manage media stories from inception to delivery, respond to media queries, and source and coach media spokespeople, all to enhance the Academy's profile and public awareness of the humanities and social sciences.
