Job summary

Choice Teachers is seeking a Lecturer of Media to join a college in St Albans, starting ASAP. You will deliver engaging Media lessons across courses, plan lessons to meet diverse learners, and support both theoretical and practical aspects of Media education.

The ideal candidate holds a Media qualification or degree, has industry experience, and can inspire students while maintaining safeguarding and professional standards. DBS clearance is required or to be obtained.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and experience within the Media industry.
• Experience teaching, training or mentoring learners.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Willing to obtain DBS clearance if not already held.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed Lecturer of Media to join a college in St Albans, starting as soon as possible.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Media professional who wants to inspire students and help develop the next generation of creative and media professionals.

The Role

As a Lecturer of Media, you will:

• Deliver engaging and high-quality Media lessons across relevant courses and programmes

• Plan and prepare lessons that meet the needs of a diverse range of learners

• Deliver both theoretical and practical aspects of Media education

• Support students in developing their creative, technical and analytical skills

• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support progression

• Develop students' understanding of the Media industry and career opportunities

• Contribute to the wider life of the college and Media department

• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, behaviour and professionalism

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has strong knowledge and experience within the Media industry

• Has experience teaching, training or mentoring learners

• Holds a relevant Media qualification or degree

• Is passionate about developing young people and helping them achieve their potential

• Can build positive relationships with students and colleagues

• Has excellent communication and organisational skills

• Is available to start ASAP

• Has, or is willing to obtain, the appropriate DBS clearance

Teaching qualifications and previous FE/college experience are highly desirable, although experienced Media professionals with strong industry and training experience will also be considered.
