Job summary

The Supply Register, on behalf of New College Durham, is seeking a Media Lecturer to support the college by delivering engaging media lessons and helping learners develop practical skills.

You will teach across levels, supervise media production projects and assessments, monitor progress, and promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and professional standards. Location: Durham, approx. 9 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Media or related subject; degree desirable.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to obtain.
• Knowledge of current media production techniques and industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Media lessons across a range of levels.
• Support learners with practical media production projects and assessments.
• Prepare students for higher education, apprenticeships and careers in creative industries.

We are currently recruiting a Media Lecturer to support New College Durham. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced media professionals or qualified lecturers looking to inspire the next generation of creative talent.

The Role

As a Media Lecturer, you will deliver engaging lessons and support learners in developing the practical skills, creative techniques, and industry knowledge required for careers within the media sector.

Key responsibilities include:

What We're Looking For

• Relevant industry experience within Media, Film, Television, Digital Content, or a related field
• Level 3 qualification in Media or a related subject (degree desirable)
• Teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain)
• Knowledge of current media production techniques and industry trends
• Experience within Further Education or apprenticeship delivery (desirable)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
