Job summary

The Mechatronics Apprenticeship at JCB is a Level 3 program combining mechanical and electrical engineering elements, robotics and product engineering. It starts in September 2027 with a salary of £16,000 and typically lasts 44 months.

For the first two years you’ll balance block release training with work-based learning at JCB, followed by full-time on-the-job experience in a business unit and a final practical assessment.

Qualifications

• You’ll need at least four GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths, English and a relevant scientific/technical subject at C/4 or above.
• Visa sponsorship or immigration support is not available for Emerging Talent schemes.

Responsibilities

• First two years: block release training with the training provider and work-based learning at JCB, plus several placement periods within a dedicated business unit.
• Remaining time: based full-time at JCB, gaining on-the-job experience in a business area and completing a final practical assessment.
