New Chapter Tuition Ltd in Gosport, Hampshire, is seeking a Mechanics & Motorsport Instructor to support SEMH and SEND learners. The role involves delivering hands-on mechanics and motorsport activities, mentoring students, and promoting safe, practical skills in a supportive environment.

The position offers a full-time, permanent contract, term-time hours, and a salary of £21,731–£24,195.50 with a bonus of up to £2,500 per year.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanics or motorsport instruction is preferred.
• Background in vehicle maintenance and practical coaching.
• Experience supporting SEMH/SEND learners is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical mechanics and motorsport-based learning activities.
• Demonstrate tools, equipment and basic vehicle maintenance techniques.
• Support learners 1:1 and in small groups up to eight.
• Teach safe working practices and develop practical skills.
• Adapt activities to individual learning needs.
• Support behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement.
• Build positive relationships and maintain clear boundaries.
• Contribute to planning, preparation and learner progress.

Mechanics & Motorsport Instructor – SEMH & SEND

Location: Gosport, Hampshire

Salary: £21,731–£24,195.50 + up to £2,500 annual performance bonus

Contract: Full Time | Permanent | Term Time Only

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm

New Chapter Tuition is recruiting a Mechanics & Motorsport Instructor to join a specialist vocational education provision in Gosport.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver practical mechanics and motorsport-based learning activities
• Demonstrate tools, equipment and basic vehicle maintenance techniques
• Support learners 1:1 and in small groups of up to eight
• Teach safe working practices and develop practical skillsAdapt activities to suit individual learning needs
• Support behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement

Who We're Looking For

We welcome candidates from backgrounds including:

• Motor vehicle mechanics and automotive repair
• Motorsport, vehicle maintenance or engineering
• Automotive apprenticeships or vocational training
• Workshop instruction or practical skills coaching
• Education, youth work or behaviour mentoring
• Armed Forces or technical training backgrounds

Experience supporting young people with SEMH or SEND would be advantageous, but training will be provided.
