Descripción de la vacante

THE FRANCIS CRICK INSTITUTE LIMITED/ Briscoe and Mayor Lab is offering a Crick-UCL Joint PhD project focused on mechanically induced neural crest lineage switching. The project aims to define transcriptional responses to mechanical confinement and to reconstruct the mechanotransduction- gene regulatory network guiding NCC fate decisions.

Applicants will perform single-cell RNA sequencing, GRN inference, and RNA velocity analyses, with in vivo validation in hiNCs and Xenopus embryos, contributing

Formación

  • Strong interest in the biology of cell differentiation.
  • Broad background in biological sciences such as developmental biology, cell biology, genetics.
  • Willing to learn interdisciplinary methods and work at the interface of experimental and computational biology.

Responsabilidades

  • Define the transcriptional response to mechanical confinement using scRNA-seq and scATC-seq.
  • Reconstruct the mechanics-induced gene regulatory network using GRN inference tools, pseudotime analysis, and RNA velocity.
  • Functionally validate the GRN in NCC fate transitions via loss-of-function experiments in hiNCs and Xenopus embryos.
