Job summary

Syensqo is hiring a Mechanical Test Lab Technician focused on CNC machining of cured composites. The role involves setting up, programming, and operating 3-4 axis CNC machines, with attention to safety and quality.

The position requires flexibility to adapt to shift patterns and to work with various teams, using LIMS/SAP systems and performing first-off inspections to ensure high standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience or education in programming, setting, and operating CNC grinding/milling machines (3-4 axis).
• Able to select tooling, fixtures and cutting parameters.
• Conduct first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Machining of cured composites by CNC (Setting/Operating/Programming).
• Operate CNC grinding and milling machines (3-4 axis) and adjust tooling as needed.
• Liaise with other areas of the business to meet production demands.
• Maintain high levels of housekeeping and safety.
• Use LIMS, SAP or other PC-based systems as required.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling and production issues to sustain quality and output.

Role and Responsibilities

Working a 12hr shift pattern; Overtime will be expected on occasion.

(Other shifts may be required, appropriate notice will be given)

Machining of cured composites by CNC (Setting/Operating/Programming.)

Use of LIMS, SAP, and various other PC based system.

Expected to demonstrate strong safety leadership.

Liaising with various areas of the business to ensure the demands of the business are met.

Ensuring high levels of housekeeping are maintained.

Experience and Skills

• Be flexible – willing to adapt to various shift patterns to suit the demands of the business
• Background (experience or education) of programming, setting, and operating CNC grinding and milling machines (3, 4-axis)
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, technical specifications
• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters
• Conduct first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.)
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues to maintain quality and output

What We Offer

• The UK-based annual base salary reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is £30,039.70 +16.6% shift . Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualification and internal equity and can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range.
