Job summary

Amcor Cumbria Packaging site is seeking a Mechanical Dayshift Engineer to maintain processing equipment and support production teams. You will perform proactive and reactive maintenance in a team, aiming to maximize uptime and reliability while meeting targets.

The role requires a time-served engineer with a focus on safety, quality and hygiene. Strong teamwork and communication are essential to deliver reliable service.

Qualifications

• Time-served with maintenance experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of Safe Working systems and policies (SWP & LOTO).
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills in equipment maintenance.
• Experience of working under ATEX and DSEAR regulations would be beneficial.
• Experience of Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on a variety of machinery and developed factory infrastructure.
• Attend equipment breakdowns and carry out repairs, knowing every minute counts.
• Carry out refurbishment works arising from breakdown or maintenance inspections.
• Prioritising personal workload in line with operational requirements.
• Support for Engineering Project functions with the handover and commissioning of capital projects.
• Complete daily timesheets and upkeep of records.
