Johnson Matthey is seeking a Mechanical Technician (Fitter) in Brimsdown, UK, to perform comprehensive mechanical maintenance, installation, and repair of plant equipment on a 12-hour shift pattern (days and nights) with weekend rotation. The role supports safety, reliability, and efficiency across our operations.

You will interpret mechanical drawings, work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and contribute to PPm programs while collaborating with a strong team in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent vocational training.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out mechanical maintenance, installation and repair of plant equipment and machinery.
• Diagnosing faults and resolving issues to maintain safe and reliable operations.
• Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and inspections across site.
• Fabricating or modifying components using engineering drawings or reverse engineering techniques.
• Maintaining critical systems including pumps, conveyors, valves, furnaces and piping.
• Recording maintenance activities and identifying spare parts requirements using SAP.
