Job summary

SCINERGY Recruitment Limited is seeking a Mechanical Technician for a power station near Gloucester. The role focuses on delivering safe, reliable mechanical maintenance to support availability, efficiency and asset performance.

Responsibilities include planned/ reactive maintenance on plant, fault-finding, updating CMMS records and assisting with outages. Benefits include a company pension, holiday allowance and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent with completed apprenticeship.
• Experience in industrial/process environments (power generation, steel, chemical, etc.).
• Strong fault-finding and maintenance skills.
• Able to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Knowledge of safe systems of work and permit-to-work procedures.

Mechanical Technician - Power Station

SCINERGY Recruitment are recruiting for a Mechanical Technician to join the maintenance department of an energy from waste power station near Gloucester.

This role focuses on delivering safe, reliable mechanical maintenance across the plant, supporting availability, efficiency and long-term asset performance.

The role will involve:

• Planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on rotating and static plant equipment
• Maintenance and overhaul of pumps, valves, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors and associated systems
• Carrying out fault-finding, defect rectification and first-line repairs
• Completing maintenance activities in line with site procedures, permits and isolation requirements
• Updating maintenance records and work orders within the CMMS
• Supporting outages and shutdown activities as required
• Working alongside specialist contractors and equipment vendors
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and housekeeping

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• A recognised mechanical qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) with a completed apprenticeship
• Experience working in an industrial or process environment such as power generation, steel, chemical, paper or marine engineering from the Navy
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance experience
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary site team
• A strong understanding of safe systems of work and permit-to-work procedures
