Job summary

SCINERGY Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Mechanical Technician to join the maintenance department of an energy-from-waste power station near Gloucester, Gloucestershire. The role focuses on safe, reliable mechanical maintenance across the plant, supporting availability, efficiency and long-term asset performance.

You will work with operations and engineering teams to maintain equipment to high standards.

Qualifications

• A recognised mechanical qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) with an completed apprenticeship.
• Experience in an industrial or process environment (power generation, steel, chemical, paper or marine engineering from the Navy).
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary site team.
• Strong understanding of safe systems of work and permit-to-work procedures.

Responsibilities

• Planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on rotating and static plant equipment.
• Maintenance and overhaul of pumps, valves, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors and associated systems.
• Carrying out fault-finding, defect rectification and first-line repairs.
• Completing maintenance activities in line with site procedures, permits and isolation requirements.
• Updating maintenance records and work orders within the CMMS.
• Supporting outages and shutdown activities as required.
• Working alongside specialist contractors and equipment vendors.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and housekeeping.
