Job summary

Flourish is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician in the North Oxfordshire/Cotswolds area to join a specialist engineering environment. This hands-on role focuses on precision machining, assembly, and working from technical drawings, with opportunities to gain additional qualifications and certifications.

You will operate mills and lathes, assemble components, and collaborate with the wider team to deliver high-quality finished work in a busy workshop setting on site.

Qualifications

• Experience operating manual mills and lathes.
• Experience assembling precision components and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience with CNC and CAD/CAM advantageous.
• Engine components experience a plus.

Working pattern: Full time, 5 days per week on site

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join a specialist engineering environment in North Oxfordshire / the Cotswolds.

This is a hands on role for someone with strong practical engineering experience who is confident working in a workshop environment and takes real pride in precision, quality and craftsmanship.

You’ll work across the machining, assembly and development of precision mechanical components and systems, with the opportunity to continue building your technical expertise and gain additional qualifications and certifications.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operating manual milling machines and lathes to produce precision components
• Assembling mechanical components and sub assemblies to a high standard
• Working accurately from engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Measuring and checking components to ensure accuracy and quality
• Supporting the build, maintenance and development of mechanical systems
• Diagnosing and solving practical mechanical and engineering challenges
• Working closely with the wider engineering team to deliver high quality finished work

What We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

• Confidence operating manual mills and lathes
• Experience assembling precision components and mechanical systems
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• A practical, methodical approach to problem solving
• Experience with CNC machinery and CAD/CAM would be advantageous, while previous experience working with engines or engine components would be a particular plus.
