We are seeking a full-time Mechanical Systems Engineer in Derby, Wolverhampton, or Widnes.
Take on a new challenge and apply your Mechanical Systems Engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You will report to the Mechanical Systems Manager and work alongside dedicated and passionate teammates. Your support will be focused on the Services Engineering business responsible for vehicles already in passenger service. The Mechanical Systems Engineer will specify train functions and sub-systems at train level and lead engineering studies to achieve required performance standards. This is a permanent position with significant career growth potential.
We value passion and attitude over experience. The ideal candidate may be a mechanical or electro-mechanical engineer with suitable rolling stock experience, including writing requirement specifications, risk assessments, and overhaul instructions. Good communication skills are essential for liaising with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers. You should be capable of owning work packages and coordinating efforts to meet deadlines and budgets.
