Job summary

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the maintenance team, ensure compliance with NHS HTM standards, and support Safe Systems of Work across the estate.

The role requires a solid mechanical engineering background, management of high-risk systems, and delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance scheduling and reporting in line with statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline
• APMPS Mechanical AP Training or desire to become Authorised Person

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development and implementation of compliance strategies for hard FM services across multiple Trust departments.
• Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are integrated into daily operational activities and maintenance tasks.
• Deliver challenging audit outcomes to teams, requiring advanced persuasive and motivational skills to overcome opposition and ensure implementation of corrective measures.
• Maintain accurate compliance records and monitoring systems to support audit readiness and reporting.
• Lead the development and implementation of Trust-wide Safe Systems of Work, formulating and adjusting risk management strategies.
