Job summary

M&E design and build is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor for a life sciences project on site in Windlesham, Surrey. You will lead installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC, piping and plant equipment, coordinating on-site teams and ensuring safety and quality.

This three-month contract requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills to supervise technicians and subcontractors, review work, and keep materials available to meet project specs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise technicians and subcontractors, assign tasks and monitor performance.
• Enforce health and safety regulations and conduct toolbox talks to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients and site teams to meet specifications and manage materials.

Our client requires an experienced Mechanical Supervisor for a life sciences project in Surrey:

Rate: £320 p/d

As a Mechanical Supervisor leads, coordinates, and inspects the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems (HVAC, piping, plant machinery) on site.

Core Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor technicians and subcontractors, assigning daily tasks and managing performance.
• Operational Oversight: Oversee installations (HVAC, pipework, plant) or maintenance programs (preventative/reactive) to ensure high productivity.
• Safety and Compliance: Enforce health and safety regulations, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements (e.g., pressurized systems, HVAC).
• Project Coordination: Liaise between project managers, clients, and site teams to ensure project specifications are met and manage material availability.
• Technical Problem Solving: Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, conduct site audits, and identify productivity improvements.
