Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor for a high-value M&E contractor delivering commercial fit-out and Design & Build projects in London. You will lead on-site mechanical installations, working with the Project Manager to ensure safe, on-time delivery and high-quality outcomes.

The role requires at least 3 years in a Mechanical Supervisory position, SMSTS/SSSTS, and a strong background in building services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a Mechanical Supervisor role or Mechanical Site Manager.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services installations.
• Experience with M&E or mechanical contractors; commercial fit-out experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day mechanical installation on site.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and delivery team to meet safety, programme, and quality standards.
• Manage mechanical subcontractors and site labour; monitor progress and report to the Project Manager.
• Ensure works align with drawings, specifications and programme; support testing and commissioning.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join a well-established £60m turnover M&E contractor specialising in the delivery of commercial fit-out and Design & Build projects valued up to £20m M&E.

The initial project is a £6m commercial fit-out in Central London, with works commencing on site in the first week of September. This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term progression and a strong pipeline of projects across London.

The Role

As Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day mechanical installation on site, working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team to ensure works are completed safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing and coordinating mechanical subcontractors and site labour
• Overseeing mechanical installations including HVAC, pipework and associated building services
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme
• Monitoring progress and reporting back to the Project Manager
• Managing site health & safety and ensuring compliance with company procedures
• Carrying out quality inspections and ensuring installation standards are maintained
• Coordinating with electrical, construction and other trades
• Assisting with testing, commissioning and project handover
• Attending site and coordination meetings as required

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Mechanical Supervisor or Mechanical Site Manager position
• SMSTS or SSSTS essential
• Relevant mechanical/building services trade background or qualification
• Strong knowledge of mechanical building services installations
• Experience working for an M&E or mechanical contractor
• Commercial fit-out experience is highly preferable
• Ability to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively
• Strong understanding of health & safety, quality and programme requirements
