Job summary

1st Step Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor for an education project in Cumbria. The role centres on supervising mechanical works, coordinating site trades, and maintaining safety and quality on site.

You will manage toolbox talks, material ordering, and progress reporting, while liaising with managers to ensure the programme is delivered on time. Prior supervisory experience on commercial or Tier 1 projects is preferred.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Pipefitting or equivalent.
• CSCS Card required.
• SSSTS/SMSTS qualification.
• First Aid at Work.
• Good literacy skills.
• Previous supervisory/management experience.
• Ability to drive a project.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate installation works and site trades to programme.
• Supervise contractors and subcontractors; ensure staff are trained and follow H&S procedures.
• Lead toolbox talks; order materials and manage schedules to keep works on track.
• Liaise with site managers; report on progress and issues on site.
• Manage variations and ensure installation quality meets standards.
• Carry out site surveys and ensure snag-free completion.

1st Step Solutions are supporting a National M&E Contractor who are looking for a Mechanical Supervisor to join their team on an education project in Cumbria.

We are seeking Supervisors who have experience working on commerical projects in a Supervisory capacity, preferably for a Tier 1 M&E Contractor.

Job Purpose:

The responsibilities of this Mechanical Site Supervisor role include overseeing mechanical work and site trades, scoping work and ordering materials, issuing permits and ensuring safety rules are followed.

Role:

• Co-ordination of the installation.
• Supervising Contractors and Subcontractors, ensuring all direct staff and Subcontractors are adequately trained and adhering to H&S procedures.
• Conducting toolbox talks, ordering materials, completing schedules of work, scheduling materials to ensure programme of works delivered.
• Liaise with Managers on a regular basis, reporting on any and all works conducted on site.
• Managing variations.
• Ensuring the quality of the installation was of a high standard.
• Carrying out site surveys.
• Ensuring the installation was snag free.
• Paperwork management; RFI's, method statements, risk assessments, site diaries, progress reports.

Requirements:

• City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Pipefitting or equivalent.
