Job summary

Involve Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to oversee site delivery for M&E installations across the Cardiff region. This on-site role requires coordinating subcontractors and direct labour, keeping projects on programme and ensuring high quality standards.

The successful candidate will supervise installation through commissioning, maintain health and safety on site, lead toolbox talks and inductions, and work closely with the Project Manager and Contracts Manager to resolve issues

Qualifications

• Supervising mechanical or electrical works on site to a high standard.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors on live sites.
• Strong health and safety awareness with site induction experience.

Job description

We re working with a well-established and growing M&E contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work across South Wales. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to oversee site delivery across projects in the Cardiff region.

This is a key site-based role, responsible for coordinating mechanical installation works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

As an Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

• Supervising mechanical works on site from installation through to commissioning
• Coordinating subcontractors and direct labour across multiple trades
• Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme requirements
• Maintaining high health & safety standards across site
• Carrying out toolbox talks and site inductions
• Monitoring quality of installation and ensuring compliance with specifications
• Working closely with the Project Manager and Contracts Manager
• Attending site meetings and reporting on progress
• Assisting with commissioning, snagging, and handover processes
• Identifying and resolving technical and coordination issues on site

Projects may span commercial, education, healthcare, residential, or industrial sectors.

Requirements

• Proven experience supervising M&E installations on construction projects
• Strong technical knowledge across mechanical services
• SSSTS or SMSTS (preferred)
• Relevant trade background (mechanical or electrical)
• Strong understanding of health & safety regulations
• Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain programme
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Full UK driving licence
