Job summary

WR Engineering seeks a Technical Sales Engineer with a mechanical engineering background to interpret technical specifications, read engineering drawings and provide expert support through the enquiry and quotation process.

You'll work closely with customers and the external sales team, using your engineering knowledge to deliver accurate, commercially sound solutions and manage quotations from enquiry to order entry in a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering qualification (Degree, HND or equivalent).
• Experience in a technical engineering environment, ideally in internal sales, applications engineering, quotations or customer support.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong communication skills and confidence discussing technical solutions with customers.
• Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple enquiries at once.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the first point of contact for customers with technical and commercial enquiries.
• Producing detailed quotations based on engineering drawings and specifications.
• Providing technical guidance and product support to customers throughout the enquiry process.
• Processing customer orders and managing projects from enquiry through to order entry.
• Liaising with engineering, production and external sales teams to ensure customers receive the right solution.
• Managing enquiry deadlines and keeping customers updated on project progress.
