Job summary

Imperial Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Service Technician to join the Facilities Management team at a well-established education provider. You will carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on HVAC systems to keep campuses running reliably for students, staff and visitors.

Key duties include servicing FCUs, AHUs and heat recovery units, working at height if needed, and contributing to safe working practices and COSHH compliance.

Qualifications

• NVQ/Extended Diploma in Engineering Maintenance or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining DHWS/DCWS and HVAC systems in FM.
• MEWP experience desirable.
• Ability to perform risk assessments and follow COSHH.
• Knowledge of solar thermal or air source heat pumps is a plus.
• Self-motivated with ability to handle multiple priorities.

Imperial Recruitment is working with a well-established education provider to appoint a Mechanical Service Technician to join their Facilities Management team, playing a vital role in keeping the systems that support thousands of students, staff and visitors running reliably every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on HVAC equipment including FCUs, Chilled Beams, Heat Recovery Units and AHUs
• Reactive repairs to heating/cooling failures, including working at height on small bore pipework (press fit and compression joints)
• Service, check and replace thermostatic mixing valves
• Act as Systems Specialist on the College's mechanical systems

About You

• NVQ Diploma/Extended Diploma in Engineering Maintenance, ONC in Engineering, or Level 3 NVQ in Electro-technical Services (or equivalent)
• Solid experience of PPM and reactive maintenance on DHWS/DCWS and HVAC systems in a facilities management environment
• Experience working from MEWPs
• Confident producing and following safe working procedures, including risk assessments and COSHH
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems (solar thermal, air source heat pumps) desirable
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities
