Job summary

Ampstek in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled CAD engineer to create and modify 3D CAD models, assemblies and detailed drawings to aerospace standards.

You will collaborate with stress, manufacturing and quality teams, perform GD&T, support design phases from concept to detail, maintain BOMs, and drive value engineering and design-to-cost initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in 3D CAD design for aerospace applications.
• Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards.
• Proficiency in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Experience in BOM management and documentation control.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings to aerospace standards.
• Design aerospace components such as brackets, enclosures, nacelle parts, ducts and housings.
• Perform tolerance analysis and apply GD&T; participate in design reviews.
• Support concept, preliminary and detailed design phases.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product documentation.
• Execute ECNs/RFCs and non-conformance resolution activities.
• Collaborate with stress, thermal, manufacturing, quality and certification teams.
• Support weight optimization, Design-to-Cost, value engineering and product improvement.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific design guidelines.
• Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.

Job description

Create and modify 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings using aerospace design standards.

Design aerospace components such as brackets, enclosures, nacelle parts, ducts, housings, hydraulic components, and structural assemblies.

Perform tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T application, and design reviews.

Support concept design, preliminary design, and detailed design phases.

Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product documentation.

Execute engineering changes, RFCs, ECNs/ECRs, and non-conformance resolution activities.

Collaborate with stress, thermal, manufacturing, quality, and certification teams.

Support weight optimization, Design-to-Cost initiatives, value engineering, and product improvement projects.

Ensure compliance with aerospace standards such as AS9100 and customer-specific design guidelines.

Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.
