Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development and delivery of aerospace propulsion systems in Derby and Bristol. You will produce and maintain detailed 2D drawings and associated documentation for civil aerospace applications, ensuring compliance with engineering and manufacturing requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Mechanical Design Engineer in aerospace.
• Proficient in producing and maintaining 2D drawings.
• Understanding of industry drawing standards and regulated environments.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify and maintain detailed 2D drawings for aerospace propulsion components.
• Produce design documentation per industry and company standards.
• Support design definition throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure drawing packs released to quality standards.
• Participate in design reviews and change management.
