2 x Mechanical QA Managers - London - Contract - Step Solutions

Step Solutions is currently recruiting experienced Mechanical QA Managers in London. The ideal candidates should have prior commercial experience, particularly on Mace projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing safety, technical standards, and quality of work within the business unit/site, including design and drawing reviews, supports, fixings, and adherence to the quality control management system.

Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrate appropriate health and safety awareness, ensuring safety is prioritized in all project activities.
2. Conduct factory testing of major plant and equipment, report defective materials, and ensure corrective actions.
3. Manage cross-departmental risk mitigation processes and procedures.
4. Work with project management to ensure all operatives possess necessary qualifications and competencies.
5. Ensure manufacturer training is completed on-site before installation.
6. Maintain and manage local records and promote best practices.
7. Disseminate notifications from SHE and central engineering to all operational teams.
8. Conduct toolbox talks and presentations as required.
9. Review and comment on work-in-progress design drawings for accuracy and incorporation.
10. Ensure the production, maintenance, and monitoring of inspection and test plans to comply with industry standards and legislation.
11. Ensure test records and certifications are produced, and test equipment is calibrated and certified.
12. Perform regular site inspections and produce site-specific QC audit reports, highlighting non-compliance and quality defects.
13. Ensure commissioning activities comply with legislation.
14. Ensure all snag defects are completed as required by the main contractor.

Requirements:

• Hold a current CSCS Skilled card in the mechanical trade.
• SMSTS certification.
• Experience working on large commercial projects.
