Job summary

ePropelled Coventry seeks an Engineering Technician – Mechanical to assist design, development, assembly, testing, and validation of advanced propulsion technologies. You will work with mechanical, electronics, and manufacturing engineers to build prototypes and troubleshoot mechanical systems throughout the product lifecycle.

This role suits a practical technician with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys turning concepts into working prototypes and contributing to cutting-edge electrification

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanically with appropriate engineering qualification or apprenticeship.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and GD&T symbols.
• Hands-on experience assembling and testing mechanical systems.
• Experience with motors, propulsion, or rotating machinery advantageous.
• Familiarity with DFA/DFM principles and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Support development, assembly, and testing of prototype systems.
• Build and maintain mechanical prototypes and test rigs.
• Assist with design verification and validation activities.
• Assemble precision components and electromechanical assemblies.
• Conduct performance, durability, environmental, and functional tests.
• Install sensors and instrumentation for data collection.
• Record results and maintain engineering documentation.
• Read engineering drawings and specifications for fabrication tasks.
• Support fabrication, machining, and fitting of prototype parts.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and lab procedures.
• Maintain organised workshop and lab environment.
