Job summary

NRL is seeking a Mechanical Project/Package Manager to own the mechanical services workstream on a major construction development in Newcastle. The role requires leadership to deliver complex packages from design through commissioning, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance on a high-profile project.

You will oversee planning, procurement, installation, and commissioning, coordinating with design teams and subcontractors to meet milestones and project requirements.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent trade background.
  • Proven track record delivering complex mechanical works on large-scale residential or commercial projects.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard project coordination tools and IT systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of the mechanical services delivery cycle, from planning and procurement to installation and commissioning.
  • Coordinate with design teams to ensure accurate technical information is received on time for site activities.
  • Monitor progress against programme milestones and maintain detailed reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee inspections, testing, and commissioning processes to guarantee system integrity.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and other project stakeholders to maintain smooth workflow and resolve technical queries promptly.
  • Ensure mechanical deliverables are fully aligned with project requirements and client expectations.
