Job summary

The role requires strong client communication, a solid grasp of heating, cooling and ventilation systems, and a track record of managing multiple live jobs. Based in Redditch with UK-wide stop-ins.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial HVAC and M&E project delivery.
• Strong understanding of heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
• Ability to interpret engineer reports and develop clear scopes of work.
• Experience managing subcontractors and suppliers.
• Confident managing multiple live jobs simultaneously.
• Excellent client-facing communication and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical/HVAC professional to manage a mix of commercial projects and quoted minor works across a diverse client base. This role suits someone confident delivering technically involved mechanical jobs from initial enquiry through to handover.

The Role

• Manage mechanical and HVAC projects from quotation through to completion.
• Deliver a steady pipeline of minor works generated through maintenance visits, engineer recommendations and client requests.
• Develop scopes of work, review engineer reports and carry out site surveys.
• Coordinate subcontractors (AC, ventilation, controls, electrical, ductwork).
• Plan labour, materials, access and programme requirements.
• Maintain strong communication with clients throughout delivery.
• Manage variations, commissioning and full project close‑out.

Typical Works

• Commercial boiler replacements and heating modifications.
• Pump, valve and plant replacements.
• Split/VRF air‑conditioning installations and upgrades.
• Kitchen extract and ventilation improvements.
• Supply/extract air installations.
• Pressure testing and leak investigations.
• Controls/BMS‑related mechanical works.
• Air source heat pumps and low‑carbon heating upgrades.
• Plant‑room modifications and small refurbishments.

Pre‑Construction & Commercial

• Attend surveys, tender visits and pre‑contract meetings.
• Review drawings, specifications and client requirements.
• Prepare scopes and obtain specialist quotations.
• Support tender submissions, negotiation and PO receipt.
• Protect project margins, manage variations and support cost reporting.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience in commercial HVAC, mechanical building services or M&E.
• Strong understanding of heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
• Ability to interpret engineer reports and develop clear scopes of work.
• Experience managing subcontractors and suppliers.
• Confident managing multiple live jobs at once.
• Good commercial awareness and excellent client‑facing communication.
• Working knowledge of electrical services, HVAC controls, BMS and ventilation.
• Understanding of low‑carbon heating technologies (ASHP).

Role Balance

Workload will vary between larger mechanical projects and ongoing minor works depending on the live pipeline. You’ll provide consistent technical and project management support from initial enquiry through to delivery and handover
