Apex M&E Solutions Ltd is recruiting for an established building services contractor seeking a mechanically strong Project Engineer or Project Manager. Based in West Yorkshire, you will combine technical judgement with responsibility for programme, procurement, site delivery and commercial performance.

You will join a business delivering mechanical, electrical and HVAC projects across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial and retail environments.

Qualifications

• UK commercial mechanical project delivery experience.
• Knowledge of heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Commercial awareness and clear client communication.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
• SMSTS or SSSTS, Gas Safe knowledge or qualifications, and experience of occupied-building refurbishment would also be useful.

Responsabilités

• Lead mechanical projects through design coordination, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Plan programmes, labour and plant procurement; manage subcontractors, engineers and specialist suppliers.
• Review drawings and selections, survey sites and resolve installation constraints with electrical, BMS and other trades.
• Manage client communication, technical submittals and RFIs while monitoring progress, quality and project risks.
• Track budgets, labour performance and forecast costs; identify scope changes and support agreement of variations.
• Coordinate testing, flushing, water treatment and balancing as applicable, then close out defects and handover documentation.

Based in West Yorkshire, you will combine technical judgement with responsibility for programme, procurement, site delivery and commercial performance.

What you will do

• Review drawings and selections, survey sites and resolve installation constraints with electrical, BMS and other trades.
• Manage client communication, technical submittals and RFIs while monitoring progress, quality and project risks.
• Track budgets, labour performance and forecast costs; identify scope changes and support agreement of variations.
• Coordinate testing, flushing, water treatment and balancing as applicable, then close out defects and handover documentation.

What you will bring

• UK commercial mechanical project delivery experience, backed by strong HVAC or mechanical building services knowledge.
• Working knowledge of heating, cooling and ventilation systems, including plantrooms, pipework, ductwork and controls interfaces.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and schedules and manage subcontractors, suppliers and site delivery.
• Commercial awareness, clear client communication and the ability to manage competing workstreams independently.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

An HNC, HND or degree, or a mechanical apprenticeship followed by engineering or project management experience, would be welcomed. SMSTS or SSSTS, relevant Gas Safe knowledge or qualifications, and experience of occupied-building refurbishment would also be useful.
