Chemring Energetics UK is seeking a Project Engineer (Mechanical) to drive capital and overhead projects from concept to commissioning at our manufacturing site. You will manage contractors, ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance, and lead mechanical installations and handovers.

Ideal candidates will have a mechanical engineering degree, be working towards CEng, and bring experience delivering projects in manufacturing or high-hazard environments with a strong commitment to Health,

Formación

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
• Experience delivering mechanical engineering projects.
• Experience specifying and procuring mechanical process or manufacturing equipment and services.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design codes and standards.
• Experience managing contractors and suppliers.
• Proven experience across lifecycle phases of mechanical projects.
• Experience in manufacturing, process or high-hazard industries.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver mechanical engineering projects safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Develop engineering solutions from concept through detailed design, ensuring compliance with legislation and COMAH.
• Prepare and review specifications, drawings, calculations, scopes of work and technical documentation.
• Manage procurement of mechanical equipment and services, including tendering and supplier management.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants and equipment suppliers for safe project delivery.
• Provide site-based construction support and oversee mechanical installation activities.
• Lead or support commissioning, start-up, testing and handover of plant and equipment.
• Maintain project schedules, budgets, risk registers and progress reports.
• Ensure MoC, process safety requirements and regulatory obligations are met.
• Participate in HAZID/HAZOP and risk assessments for safe plant design and operation.
• Monitor contractor performance against health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, sustainability and lifecycle performance.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and engineering records for operation and maintenance.
