Job summary

Primech Building Services Ltd seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to focus on pre-mobilisation, design coordination and delivery. You will lead design surveys, review tenders for design, programme and risks, and run design Q&A sessions with Clients and the Delivery Team.

You will manage RFIs, prepare procurement documents, and develop programmes while coordinating with Procurement to ensure materials and equipment are ordered before mobilisation.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical required.
• Proven time management across multiple projects.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong knowledge of British Standards in mechanical/electrical domains.
• Self-starter with effective communication at all levels.
• Sound health and safety practices relevant to projects.
• Experience in a similar role and client liaison ability.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Manager and Contracts Manager in QA standards.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven individual to take on the role of a Mechanical Project Engineer, focusing on pre-mobilisation, design coordination, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead design surveys and provide detailed design survey information to our design team.
• Conduct thorough reviews of tenders, focusing on design, programme, and risks.
• Lead design Q&A sessions alongside Clients and the Project Delivery Team.
• Submit and track RFIs to resolve design any project-related queries.
• Create procurement documents and complete technical submittals.
• Develop project programmes and highlight key risks.
• Undertake Labour and Material measures.
• Work closely with the Procurement Team to ensure all necessary materials, plant, and equipment are ordered before project mobilisation.
• Raise ITTs, review sub-contractor quotes, and collaborate with the Commercial Team to award contracts.
• Assist design-related communication.
• Support the Project Manager and Contracts Manager in maintaining high standards of quality assurance throughout Projects.
• Take ownership of all project-specific Contractor Design Portion (CDP) elements.
• Draft detailed site instructions for management review, covering works required, location, programme and cost impacts, and client-led change events.
• Ensure all submitted commissioning documents adhere to design and specification requirements.
• Draft and issue comprehensive handover documents, including O&M manuals.
• HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical.
• Proven time management organisational skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
• Excellent knowledge of British Standards and both Mechanical and/or Electrical disciplines.
• Self-starter and ability to operate and excellent communication at all levels (from Site Level to Senior Management).
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in the relevant field of operation.
• Ability to conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed reports.
• Experience in a similar position.
• Ability to liaise and converse with clients in a professional manner.
