Robert Hurst Limited in London and surrounding areas is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to deliver building services projects from design coordination through installation and handover.

Review drawings, coordinate HVAC and pipework, liaise with consultants and subcontractors, monitor progress and ensure compliance with UK regulations and safety standards. A relevant degree or equivalent experience is required, with a strong focus on quality and programme delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Mechanical Project Engineer or equivalent building services role.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services, particularly HVAC and plants.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Understanding of relevant UK regulations, standards and safe working practices.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate mechanical project activities, including HVAC, heating, ventilation, chilled water, pipework and plant installations.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, technical submissions and equipment schedules.
• Liaise with design consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to resolve technical queries.
• Monitor installation progress, quality, programme milestones and technical compliance.
• Assist with procurement, cost control, variations, material scheduling and resource planning.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning and project handover documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable UK regulations, British Standards, health and safety requirements and project specifications.
• Maintain accurate technical records and provide regular progress updates to the project management team.

Salary: GBP55,000 GBP70,000 per annum, depending on experience

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and technically capable Mechanical Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of mechanical building services projects, from design coordination and procurement through installation, commissioning and handover. The successful candidate will ensure that works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with technical specifications, programme deadlines, quality standards and commercial requirements.

• Understanding of relevant UK regulations, standards and safe working practices.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong organisational, communication, problem–solving and reporting skills.
• HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Relevant site health and safety training desirable.

Salary and Benefits Package

• Pension: Employer contribution of 5% or above.
• Annual leave: 25 days plus UK public holidays.
