Job summary

SYOS designs and manufactures advanced uncrewed systems and seeks an experienced Procurement Lead (Mechanical) to lead the Mechanical procurement within the Aviation business unit in the UK. You will manage supplier relations, ensure parts sourced to specification and on time, and contribute to the development of a resilient procurement strategy.

You’ll supervise a small team, coordinate with engineering and production, manage BOMs, lead cost-optimisation efforts, and maintain ERP/MRP data

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in procurement, buying, or supply chain roles.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical components and manufacturing processes.
• Experience supervising a small team and coordinating workloads.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite, SAP, MS Dynamics, or Odoo).
• Proficient with BOMs, engineering drawings, and technical specs.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Advanced Excel and procurement software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mechanical Procurement team and allocate workloads.
• Oversee end-to-end procurement and purchase orders aligned with schedules.
• Develop supplier relationships and monitor performance.
• Drive sourcing, RFx activities, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Coordinate with engineering and production on BOMs and specs.
• Manage supply chain risks and ensure quality and compliance.
• Maintain ERP/MRP data, KPIs, and documentation.
