Job summary

Tech-People is seeking two Mechanical Pipefitters for a 6-month contract in Reading (RG2 9AA). The role starts 28/09/2026 and involves first-fix installation of steelwork, copper press-fit and stainless-steel pipework, reading drawings, and maintaining strict safety standards.

Hours are Monday-Thursday 07:30-16:30 and Friday 07:30-15:00, with paid breaks. CSCS/JIB, NVQ2 in pipefitting, IPAF, and own tools are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in mechanical/pipefitting or equivalent.
• CSCS/JIB card showing Mechanical Pipefitting.
• IPAF certification are required.
• Own hand tools and proven pipefitting experience.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• First-fix installation of secondary steelwork using Sikla and Unistrut systems.
• Installation of copper press-fit pipework.
• Installation of stainless-steel flanged pipework.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
• Maintaining high health and safety standards on site.
• Ensuring work meets project requirements.
