Vital Energi is seeking a Mechanical Plant Room Engineer to join the Energy and Asset Management Operations & Maintenance team in the North West.

You will oversee boilers, CHP units, chillers and pumps, perform preventive and reactive maintenance, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with HVAC and safety standards. A City & Guilds qualification and a full UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Hold a City & Guilds qualification or equivalent.
• Experience with mechanical seals, bearings and pressurisation units.
• Full UK manual driving licence.

Responsabilités

• Oversee, operate, and maintain mechanical plant equipment (boilers, CHP units, chillers, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, compressors, pipework).
• Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Monitor system performance, pressure, flow rates, and energy efficiency.
• Diagnose faults in mechanical plant systems.
• Carry out corrective repairs or escalate to specialist contractors when required.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations (HVAC, Gas Safe, water hygiene, LOLER, PUWER).
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and system performance.
• Carry out risk assessments and method statements; follow health & safety protocols.
