Job Title: Mechanical Manager- Facilities Management

Location: Central London

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum - Monday Friday: 8am - 5pm + overtime

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, with a minimum qualification of Level 2/3 or equivalent. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the management of technical operations within our facilities management division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervision and Leadership:

    • Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers and technicians.
    • Provide training, support, and development opportunities for team members.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and implement improvement plans as necessary.
  • Maintenance and Operations:

    • Oversee the maintenance and operation of HVAC systems, plumbing, elevators, and other mechanical infrastructure.
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
    • Ensure timely and efficient response to mechanical system failures and emergencies.
  • Project Management:

    • Plan, coordinate, and manage mechanical projects from inception to completion.
    • Prepare and manage budgets for mechanical projects and maintenance activities.
    • Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure all mechanical systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Provide technical guidance and support to the team and other departments.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices.
    • Recommend and implement improvements to mechanical systems and processes.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, project progress, and compliance status.
    • Prepare detailed reports for senior management on mechanical system performance and project outcomes.
    • Ensure proper documentation of all mechanical systems and equipment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of Level 2 mechanical qualification
  • Strong supervisory/management experience
  • Previous experience on a critical site or high end commercial building
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within facilities management or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
