Job summary

Anglian Water Services in Maldon is seeking a Wastewater Maintenance Technician to help maintain our water recycling assets. You will carry out general repairs, investigate faults and complete scheduled maintenance to ensure asset reliability.

Working with a collaborative team, you will apply mechanical knowledge to operate day-to-day maintenance on assets including pumps and gearboxes, with telemetry systems. NVQ Level 2/3 mechanical/engineering and a full UK driving licence are required.

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 (mechanical/engineering) qualification or equivalent
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance to ensure asset reliability
• Investigate faults and rectify issues on mechanical assets
• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on water recycling equipment
• Operate day-to-day maintenance of pumps, gearboxes and related plant

Job description

Starting salary (Plus standby & overtime payments): £39,520 Basic for candidates with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent in Mechanical/Engineering Subject)
£35,360 Basic for candidates with NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent in Mechanical/Engineering Subject)

Clear progression opportunities to earn up to £47,840 basic with further training and experience

All PPE, tools, and fuel card provided

Permanent Full-time, with flexibility for part-time, 37 hours, 5-day working pattern including some weekends.

Location: Maldon, Burnham-on-Crouch, South Woodham Ferrers and surrounding areas

With support from a collaborative team, your mechanical knowledge will enable you to be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of water recycling assets – including equipment installed at water treatment works, as well as carrying out planned & reactive maintenance on our mechanical assets Experience working with mechanical control systems, telemetry systems, pumps, gearboxes and general mechanical/electrical plant maintenance would also be advantageous. This role is vital and will have a direct impact on the environment and communities that we serve.

What does it take to be a Wastewater Maintenance Technician?

To be successful in this role, you must have obtained an NVQ level 2 or 3 (mechanical/engineering) qualification (or equivalent) and/or completed a relevant apprenticeship and hold a full UK driving licence
