Job summary

Anglian Water Group Ltd. is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to develop and codify maintenance strategies across the Anglian Water region. The role involves managing standards, guidance, and asset maintenance data to reflect current needs and assets.

You will apply root cause analysis, collaborate with engineers and operations, and drive safety and continuous improvement through SAP and related systems. Travel across the region is required.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering with plant maintenance experience.
• Desirable HND/HNC in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Extensive experience with equipment from design to operation.
• Proficient in SAP and maintenance systems.
• Strong root cause analysis and safety management knowledge.
• Willingness to travel across the Anglian Water region.

Responsibilities

• Develop and codify maintenance strategies and standards in the Asset Maintenance database.
• Lead evaluation of maintenance proposals and obtain Water Supply approval.
• Manage communication of maintenance docs to stakeholders.
• Oversee maintenance reviews for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align maintenance with operations.
• Support capital planning and procurement decisions with strategic input.

Job description

Salary: From £52,000 (dependent on skills and experience) Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week Base Location is flexible with travel required across the Anglian Water region. Our services are at the heart of every single family and community in our region. Our Water Services team clean water to the highest standard, deliver it to millions of homes, and carefully manage it to ensure it never runs out. We borrow water from the environment, store it and treat it to world-class standards to supply safe drinking water to 4.3 million customers in towns and villages from Grimsby in the northeast of our region to Milton Keynes at the south‑western tip.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and codify maintenance strategies, technical guidance notes, standards and tasks in the Asset Maintenance database and related SAP data tables.
• Lead the investigation and assessment of maintenance related proposals and recommendations and if validated, submit to the Water Supply approval group.
• Manage the communication of new, revised or reviewed maintenance documentation to ensure that stakeholders are appropriately informed.
• Manage the maintenance review process to ensure continuous improvement is based on real business experiences in the field as well as recorded asset data.
• Manage the communication of new or changed maintenance activities to ensure that stakeholders are appropriately informed.
• Inform other stakeholders of suitable monitoring of performance post change to ensure that recommendations deliver their expected benefits.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align maintenance with operational needs.
• Strive towards informing capital planning and procurement decisions through strategic recommendations.

Requirements

• University Degree in Engineering with experience of plant maintenance, operations, and rotating equipment. (Desirable)
• HND / HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.(Desirable)
• Extensive experience of equipment from a design, maintenance, or operational perspective.
• Knowledge of Safety Management – including Permit to Work, Hazard & Risk Assessment, Environmental Protection and basic HSE regulations
• Proficient in SAP and other maintenance systems.
• Skilled in application of root cause analysis.
• Experience in utilities, oil & gas, or similar sectors (Desirable)
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel across the Anglian Water region.
