Your Role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will:

  • Keep production running smoothly by minimising downtime and delivering effective solutions.
  • Upgrade and modify equipment to boost performance and reliability.
  • Lead and support project installations, working closely with management on new initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns, ensuring production stays on track.
  • Conduct planned maintenance and document all completed tasks.
  • Help refine and improve the Preventive Maintenance Programme (PPM).
  • Champion a safe working environment and promote best practices in health and safety.
  • Identify and resolve issues at source, implementing long-term solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to prioritise maintenance tasks.

What You'll Need

  • NVQ Level 3 or above in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience as a mechanical maintenance technician, mechanical fitter, mechanical maintenance engineer, etc.
  • Ideally, experience in heavy industry (chemicals, steel, power, oil & gas, metals, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with pumps, valves, and ideally regulators.

What's On Offer

  • Hourly Rate: 20.50 - 22.90 per hour (equivalent to 39,975 - 44,655 per year).
  • Plenty of Overtime: Overtime paid at enhanced rates, with flexible on-call requirements that can often be handled remotely.
  • Generous Benefits: Company pension, 150 hours of holiday plus bank holidays, and the potential for two annual bonuses.
  • Convenient Hours: Standard 37.5-hour week, typically Monday to Thursday.
