Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Manager for a well-established manufacturing business in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex. The role offers a Monday to Friday days-based schedule, with training opportunities and long-term career progression.

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across production and site equipment, work closely with the engineering team to improve reliability, minimise downtime and support continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
• Experience as Mechanical Maintenance Manager or similar.
• Strong fault-finding and maintenance skills.
• Experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance.
• Respond to mechanical breakdowns and equipment failures.
• Diagnose and repair faults on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors and related equipment.
• Assist with machinery installations and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Job Role

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Manager to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Stanford-le-Hope. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Manager looking to join a stable company offering a Monday to Friday days-based role, excellent training opportunities, and long-term career progression.

The Mechanical Maintenance Manager will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a range of production and site equipment. You will work closely with the engineering team to ensure machinery reliability, minimise downtime, and support continuous improvement projects across the site.

Non-Negotiable Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Manager

• Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent)
• Previous experience working as a Mechanical Maintenance Manager , Maintenance Fitter or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
• Strong fault-finding and mechanical maintenance skills
• Experience working within an industrial, manufacturing, production or processing environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Manager

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities
• Respond to mechanical breakdowns and equipment failures
• Diagnose and repair faults on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors and associated equipment

• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures

Desirable Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Manager

• Welding or fabrication experience
• Experience using CMMS systems
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Experience within a heavy industrial or automated manufacturing environment
• Multi-skilled maintenance experience
