Job summary

Pioneer Selection is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Manager for a well-established manufacturing business in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex. This Monday to Friday days-based role offers stability, training, and clear progression as you lead planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across production and site equipment.

You will work with the engineering team to improve reliability, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent).
• Experience as Mechanical Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Fitter or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.
• Able to diagnose faults and maintain mechanical equipment in industrial environments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes and motors.
• Respond to mechanical breakdowns and equipment failures to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and repair faults and assist with installations and CI projects.
• Ensure maintenance is carried out safely and documented in records.

Location: Stanford-le-Hope, Essex

Salary: £44,000

Shift: Monday - Friday Days

Job Role

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Manager to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Stanford-le-Hope. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Manager looking to join a stable company offering a Monday to Friday days-based role, excellent training opportunities, and long-term career progression.

The Mechanical Maintenance Manager will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a range of production and site equipment. You will work closely with the engineering team to ensure machinery reliability, minimise downtime, and support continuous improvement projects across the site.

Non-Negotiable Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Manager

• Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent)
• Previous experience working as a Mechanical Maintenance Manager , Maintenance Fitter or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
• Strong fault-finding and mechanical maintenance skills
• Experience working within an industrial, manufacturing, production or processing environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Manager

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities

• Welding or fabrication experience
• Experience using CMMS systems
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Experience within a heavy industrial or automated manufacturing environment
• Multi-skilled maintenance experience
