Job summary

Pioneer-Selection-Ltd in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex, is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Manager to join a growing manufacturing business. This role offers a Monday to Friday days-based schedule, good training, and clear opportunities for long-term career progression.

You will lead planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across site equipment. You will work with the engineering team to improve machinery reliability, minimise downtime, and support continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical engineering qualification.
• Experience as Mechanical Maintenance Manager or similar.
• Strong fault-finding and maintenance skills.
• Experience in industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities.
• Respond to mechanical breakdowns and equipment failures.
• Diagnose and repair faults on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors.
• Assist with machinery installations and CI projects.
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and documented.

Salary: £44,000

Job Role

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Manager to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Stanford-le-Hope. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Manager looking to join a stable company offering a Monday to Friday days-based role, excellent training opportunities, and long-term career progression.

The Mechanical Maintenance Manager will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a range of production and site equipment. You will work closely with the engineering team to ensure machinery reliability, minimise downtime, and support continuous improvement projects across the site.

Non-Negotiable Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Manager

• Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent)
• Previous experience working as a Mechanical Maintenance Manager , Maintenance Fitter or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
• Strong fault-finding and mechanical maintenance skills
• Experience working within an industrial, manufacturing, production or processing environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Manager

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities

• Welding or fabrication experience
• Experience using CMMS systems
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Experience within a heavy industrial or automated manufacturing environment
• Multi-skilled maintenance experience
