Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join the operations team in Randburg. The role focuses on upkeep, diagnostics, and repair of mechanical equipment across facilities. You will perform routine maintenance and ensure safe, efficient operation of machinery.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on with fitting, machining, and assembly/disassembly of components, committed to high standards of operational integrity and proactive maintenance practices.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mechanical Fitter with a recognized trade qualification.
• Demonstrable experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or plant environment.
• Proficiency in using fitting, machining, and hand tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform effective repairs.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures relevant to mechanical work.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, including gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and hydraulic systems.
• Fabricate, fit, and assemble components as required for repairs and upgrades.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company procedures.
