Job summary

Blue Chip Manufacturing in Basildon is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to provide maintenance across the site, ensuring production targets are met and machinery operates reliably. The role includes supporting machine setup and changeovers to maintain quality and efficiency.

The position offers days and nights 4 on 4 off, a £60,000 annual salary including shift allowance, an annual KPI bonus, and a competitive pension with employee benefits and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, ONC, BTEC) in mechanical or electrical.

Responsibilities

• Provide plant-wide maintenance service, department support and repairs to keep production targets met and machinery serviced.
• Support machine setup and changeovers to ensure quality conformance and efficient changeovers.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of Mechanical Maintenance Fitter include:

• Providing plant-wide maintenance service, departmental support and repairs ensuring that all production targets are maintained - maintaining factory manufacturing machinery
• Monitor & supply Engineering support of machine set-up & changeovers to ensure that the product conforms to any quality assurance standards and ensuring changeovers are as efficient as possible.

Experience and Qualifications Required for Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship & Qualification or equivalent, e.g. NVQ, City and Guilds, ONC, BTEC or above - Mechanical or Electrical
• High degree of Health & Safety awareness.
• Ability to fault find, repair and provide solutions to problems.
