Job summary

Venatu Consulting Ltd. is seeking a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer for a range of manufacturing sites around Scunthorpe and surrounding areas. The role focuses on keeping production machinery reliable, reducing downtime and driving improvements across multiple shifts.

Salary ranges from £40,000 to £45,000 with shift allowance. Hours vary by site, with patterns including days, 4-on-4-off and 4-day weeks. Commutable from Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Hull and Goole.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 engineering qualification (apprenticeship or formal training).
• Experience maintaining production machinery in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
• Hands‑on approach with ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults and equipment failures.
• Support electrical maintenance activities when required.
• Minimise downtime and maximise equipment efficiency.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and equipment upgrades.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow health and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with production teams and fellow engineers to sustain performance.
