Venatu Recruitment Group is recruiting mechanically biased Maintenance Engineers for established manufacturing and industrial businesses across Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Hull, Goole and surrounding areas. Salaries range from £40,000 to £45,000 per year with shift allowance and opportunities to progress in projects, controls, automation and robotics.

Qualifications

• Level 3 engineering qualification, gained through apprenticeship or formal technical education.
• Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role within manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working with production machinery and industrial equipment.
• Hands-on, proactive problem solving.
• Ability to work independently and in an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults, breakdowns and equipment failures.
• Using mechanical fault-finding skills to identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Supporting electrical maintenance activities where required.
• Working to minimise downtime and maximise equipment efficiency.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and health and safety procedures.
• Collaborating with production teams to maintain operational performance.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining production equipment, improving machinery reliability and minimising downtime across a busy manufacturing environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

About You

We are keen to hear from experienced, mechanically biased Maintenance Engineers who have a strong foundation in mechanical maintenance and fault-finding.

You will ideally have:

• Level 3 engineering qualification, gained through an apprenticeship or formal technical education.
• Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working with production machinery and industrial equipment.
• A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• The ability to work independently and as part of an established engineering team.

Shift Patterns Available

• A range of shift patterns are available across the different sites, including:
• Days: Day‑shift opportunities available.
• 4 on, 4 off: Four days on, four days off.
• Four‑day working week: Four 10‑hour shifts, Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday.
• Permanent afternoons: Monday to Thursday, 2:30pm–1:00am.
• Rotating shifts: Monday to Friday, rotating between earlies and lates depending on the site.
• Shift patterns vary by vacancy, so we can discuss the available options to find a suitable fit.
