Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a Newton-le-Willows site. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance on heavy manufacturing machinery, focusing on mechanical fault finding, breakdown repairs, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes and conveyors.

The role offers dayshift hours, a competitive salary (£38,000-£42,000), ongoing training and a clear progression path within an expanding manufacturing business.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
• Mechanical fault-finding and breakdown repair skills.
• Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Engineering qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on heavy manufacturing machinery.
• Fault-finding and repair of mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Support machinery upgrades, installations and continuous improvement projects.
• Contribute to reliability improvements and safe working practices.

Education

Engineering qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline
