Job summary

Omega Resource Group currently seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a seasonal peak support contract in the Wakefield/Pontefract area. You will maintain and fault-find a broad range of automated material handling equipment within a fast-paced distribution environment.

This temporary PAYE/Umbrella role offers rotating Earlies and Backshift shifts with no night work, paying £36–£40 per hour. An immediate start is available for suitably experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience with automated warehouses or distribution centres.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience on conveyors, sortation systems or automated machinery.

Responsibilities

• Reactive breakdown maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Fault-finding on automated equipment and replacements of bearings, belts, gears.
• Continuous improvement and reliability projects
• Supporting operational performance and site uptime targets
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and engineering standards

We're looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated distribution and logistics operation. Working within a fast-paced warehouse environment, you'll maintain, fault-find and improve a wide range of automated material handling equipment that keeps products flowing to customers across the UK.

This is an excellent temporary contract opportunity for engineers from automated warehouses, FMCG, manufacturing, distribution centres, parcel hubs, airports, baggage handling operations, or other high-speed automated environments.

• Knowledge of bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics, chains, belts and drives
• Ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment
• Continuous improvement mindset
