Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business in the Dartford area. The role involves planned and reactive maintenance across production and packaging equipment, with a clear focus on minimizing downtime and keeping machinery running reliably.

You will work on a 4 on 4 off night shift, with opportunities for training to progress toward a Multi-Skilled Engineer role.

Qualifications

• Mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing or FMCG environments.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Willingness to develop electrical skills and become multi-skilled.

Responsibilities

• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production equipment.
• Reactive breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Fault finding and repairs on mechanical equipment such as conveyors, pumps and motors.
• Work on gearboxes, bearings and production machinery.
• Support continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain health and safety standards.
