Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support our manufacturing operations in Northamptonshire. You will fault‑find, service and repair production machinery and plant systems to maximise uptime and reliability.

The role includes carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reading mechanical drawings, and working with conveyors, elevators, grinders, weighing equipment, and rotating machinery. Dayshift with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship, City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
• Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Fault finding, servicing, and repairing production machinery and plant systems.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Maintaining conveyors, elevators, grinders, weighing equipment, and rotating machinery.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Testing plant services using measurement and diagnostic equipment.
