Job summary

Proactive Global in Kettering is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing business. This is a workshop-based role, ideal for a mechanically skilled engineer with strong machining, refurbishment and maintenance experience.

You will carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance, perform lathe work and machining to manufacture, modify and refurbish components, and repair plant equipment including pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, shafts and rollers.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Previous experience within manufacturing, maintenance, or workshop environments.
• Experience operating manual lathes and other workshop machinery.
• Experience supporting breakdowns, planned maintenance, and engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance.
• Perform lathe work and machining activities to manufacture, modify, and refurbish components.
• Repair and refurbish plant equipment including pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, shafts and rollers.
• Operate workshop machinery including lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
