Job summary

Interaction Recruitment PLC in Skelmersdale is seeking a hands-on, mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing operation, taking over from a long-serving engineer.

You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, breakdown repairs, and machinery improvements across a range of industrial production equipment, with a focus on fault finding and keeping production running efficiently.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing environments.
• Ability to fault-find across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Electrical bias or multi-skilled engineers considered.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and respond to breakdowns.
• Minimise downtime by identifying faults and implementing practical solutions.
• Carry out machine modifications and improvements to enhance performance.
• Maintain conveyors and specialist production equipment.
• Work with production teams to ensure safe, efficient machinery operation.
• Adapt to challenging situations and restore equipment quickly.
